a visit to a Roman amphitheatre

last weekend or so i went with some friends to the Roman amphitheatre in St Albans (just outside London). i know, right? an amphitheatre! sadly it’s not all that photogenic and only has one column among bits of stone wall and stuff like that. the column isn’t even real but was put there to give you an idea of what it may have looked like during that glitzy era of gladiators and roaring, hungry tigers. it would be slightly more impressive if they had put 3 columns where 3 would have been, but maybe i’m asking too much. i still think it’s amazing. so here’s a photo of the ticket. and some mediocrely interesting pics of the amphitheatre and the column. don’t say i never treat you with sparkling wit and photographic gems.
